So I changed the layout! The old one was giving me a headache and I wanted something new. Honestly, the old one was really similar to the one before it, except that it was green instead of black. 
Hope you guys like it! I had a horrible 24-hour css struggle so ENJOY THE CSS. That’s not a suggestion, it’s an order. It was really weird, the content div was directly under the sidebar div, and ugghghhhhgihdhdjk. Not fun. Luckily, 2 html forums, 3 threads, and a talk with my host later, it got solved! Turns out I was just missing a div closing tag…I hate it when the solution is so simple. Actually nevermind I love it. <3 Html forums are my new besties.
Pertaining to the layout and graphic design in general…I feel like I just can’t graphic design at all anymore! Maybe it’s because I don’t have PSP9 anymore and am using a laptop sans mouse, or maybe I’ve really lost it. I dunno. My layouts lately have been very simple. I feel like I’m using “simple” as a disguise for just lack of skill…I really wish I could have a big, impressive, complicated layout, but I just can’t do it. Errgg. I wish I had photoshop. Or a domain. Or both.
Reassure me that my layout doesn’t suck too bad? 
My sister said it was too plain…tru dat.
Money money money. I have none since I bought gaga tickets! I’m going in August and am super super pumped. I want to get a body suit and bedazzle it. Or something. Something Lady Gaga worthy. I’ll definitely post pictures after the concert.
Oh, and the layout is Kate Nash-inspired. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Kate Nash!! If you haven’t listened to her, I highly reccommend all of her songs. But I’ll tell you my favorites: Mariella, Kiss That Grrl, Skeleton Song, and Do-Wah-Doo. I wish I could link you but stupid FanUpdate doesn’t like links. So it’s whatever. Youtube or illegally download them or buy them. She’s incredible.

i like the colors and little dashed boxes on the sidebar.
And you know, i always have the same feeling.. that I lost my ability to design stuff.. but i’ve come to understand it.. i design nice things when i’m really inspired and have my heart into it and a lot of time i don’t.. it’s hard to make something amazing sometimes, so don’t get discouraged!
For the record.. i’m so old school i still use paint shop pro 7 for all my designs. maybe that explains my inability to do things sometimes. lol

Don’t worry if your layout is too plain. If the image is plain just spice it up with the layout part. I personally like it simple, so don’t fret!
It’s not hard to get a domain, I purchased mine for 7 dollars, so I am sure if you can get that much in a paypal account you can get a domain. But you don’t always need a domain, I think having a subdomain as an address is fine too.

Ahah, the trick is to just make one good premade layout, then use the same ‘template’ for all the others (: Design something new but code it the same, so you can just kind of slap it into the template you already have and just tweak the colours

I’m terrible at swimming. That’s actually what I did all day yesterday, if you count laying out by the pool and actually being the water for a total of an hour swimming. My favorite sports are softball, basketball, and lacrosse. Softball is definitely my favorite though.

Nope, They have daily signs ins and you have to sign in at least 3 days a week (or 9 hours a week) and the coach would have to approve those hours and then on top of that you had to also compete in the games and what not… I did sports in high school but thank God I had the yoga for part of my gym credit=]

I don’t see how the new layout is too “simple” I really like it. I can definitely see the Kate Nash inspiration. I love the image, it’s totally adorable.
Congrats on getting Gaga tickets! I’m not a huge fan myself but even I would have fun at one of her shows. It’ll be a scream.
Yeah I guess I’m a music nerd. I spend a lot of my free time at school in the music department practising or in the school’s orchestra, windband and various groups. I’m a percussionist which kind of means I’m pretty needed in the school because percussion is in everything and there aren’t many of us. Yeah, I go to our county’s percussion ensemble camp in easter. I was also meant to go to concert band this year but I couldn’t make it.
A quartet camp? I don’t know what that would be like. Would there only be four of you then?

Lol, I understand. I’m lazy too. There’s a lot of things that I NEED to do around my site but you guys would never know. I have just about all the time in the world that I spend just sitting around on facebook and stuff that could be spent on my site but I’m just too lazy.

Hahah, I know what you mean. I was cheap about getting a domain before too, but then I was like what the heck, why not? I know what you mean..moving takes up so much time and effort, it’s better to just stay until you’re exhausted of your subdomain.

Haha, no live editing never works out for me either. I have a little graphic that says “changing layout” so I can hide the coding terrors that are going on behind the scenes. I actually spend days on layouts but on a “practise” page and even then I muck it up when I try and apply it to all my pages.
The quartet sounds like it would be reall nice and pleasant compared to ensembles and orchestras which can be really chaotic. Unfortunately there’s no getting away from chaos. I swear my hearing deteriorates more and more every time I’m in a percussion room. Strings are much more peaceful. I love a lot of string music.

You’re going to a Lady Gaga concert? I’m jealous. I’ve been to two concerts in my life and neither have been bands of my choice. It was just because they were playing. It was a good experience, though, as concerts always are. I’m sure you’ll have a great time. The layout’s a bit plain, but I like it. Too busy of layouts give people headaches and I hate not being able to find the navigation easily, so yours seems pretty good to me

Sometimes I don’t feel inspired enough to make a new layout even when I want to. Don’t worry, I like simple layouts. Over-complicated layouts can looks really confusing and “too much” sometimes. And I heard about an online Photoshop that you can use for free.
Good luck with finding an outfit for the concert! I’ve never been to a concert that I actually wanted to go to. /sigh

don’t be so hard on yourself. My sister is the same when it comes to reviewing my graphics but then again e_e she’s young and likes the really over-the-tops/photoshopped things. Subtle and simple is honestly the best way to go

Haha, been there, done that.I’ve had overlapping divs, footers aligned to the top and all that. That’s why I hide my layout changes now.
When we’re away from all the big things we bang/whack/etc we’re not actually that loud.
Although that said, I have a really loud voice. Yeah brass is loud too and we’re right behind them. 
The noise is everywhere!
For our percussion camp we go with the string orchestra and there’s this whole rival gang thing going on. They all accuse us of just hitting things and that we have no musical talent. Well, their leader mainly. It kind of irritates me when people are like that. All musicians should respect each other I think.

My best friend went to the Lady GaGa concert last week. She said it was a lot of fun so hopefully you enjoy it. I’m personally not a fan of her though lol. You could always buy a Halloween costume and wear it to the concert then wear it again for Halloween haha.
